Managed Aquifer Recharge

Description

The Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) course, collaboratively developed by CSIRO, WGA, and the National Centre for Groundwater Research and Training (NCGRT), provides an in-depth exploration of MAR project development. This includes:

  • Cost-benefit analysis: Evaluating the economic viability and potential returns of MAR projects.
  • Risk analysis: Identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with MAR implementation.
  • Regulatory compliance: Navigating legal and regulatory frameworks to ensure projects meet all necessary requirements.
  • Scheme establishment: Setting up the infrastructure and operational protocols for MAR systems.
  • Long-term management: Ensuring sustainable operation and maintenance of MAR schemes over time.

The course is designed to cater to a broad spectrum of professionals. It is particularly beneficial for:

  • Urban planners: Integrating MAR into urban stormwater development plans.
  • Hydrogeologists: Understanding the geological and hydrological aspects of MAR.
  • Mine water managers: Managing water resources effectively through MAR techniques.
  • Regulatory authorities: Overseeing and approving MAR projects.
  • Industry stakeholders: Seeking approval and implementing MAR initiatives.

By participating in this course, attendees will gain valuable insights and practical knowledge, empowering them to successfully develop and manage MAR projects, contributing to sustainable water resource management.
